Registration

Registration for admission can be done for your child at any time during the year on payment of a small sum. However, admission will be done on dates that would be announced. Parents need not register in advance and may directly approach the school for admission at the appropriate time. However the child’s seniority for admission may be affected.
 

Admissions

Admission form is available in the prospectus, which is a priced document. The admission form must be submitted in the school office along with payment through A/C payee Cheque / DD favouring ABC Montessori or in cash within the specified time frame. Due to limited seats, admissions will be done on first come first served basis (subject to the fulfillment of admission requirements). A merit group/class wise list will be prepared of students who cannot be accommodated in the available seats. This list will be used for inviting students for admission in the event of any vacancy being created in the respective class.
 

Fees

Admission fee – Payable once at the time of admission. Tuition fee – Monthly, payable in advance at the beginning of each quarter (7th of each quarter).

 

Orientation

All new Montessori families are required to attend a new family orientation and tour with the Head of the School. There is a fifteen (15) day probationary period for all new students. At the end of this period, the student will be evaluated based on previous 15 days records, observations, and academic performance. All new students will be required to provide all pertinent records, a current teacher’s recommendation for 15 days, and a personal interview and evaluation with the Head of the School.
 

Observation

Parents may observe their children at any time. Observation within the classroom may be arranged after the first month of school through the teacher and/or school office with one day prior notice. Please check in with the office before you enter the classroom.
 

Continuous Evaluation

Comprehensive continuous Evaluation is carried out through out the year with the help of regular & minute observation of each student under care.

 

Progress Reports

Progress reports will be issued two (2) times per year for 3-6 year age group. (ABC Montessori does not send daily or weekly activity reports home for birth to 18- months group). Formal Parent / Teacher conferences are provided for one time per term. (See School Calendar for dates). If at any other time parents need to communicate with their child’s teacher, they should call the school after 12:30 p.m. or schedule a mini – conference through the school office. Parents can always keep themselves informed on their child’s education by coming to Parent/Teacher meetings or through meeting their child’s teacher. All Toddlers and Children will receive weekly activity reports. A summary progress report will be issued two times per year.
 

Attendance

Because of the nature of the Montessori environment, it is essential that the child attends class on a regular basis. Tardiness and absenteeism interrupt the flow of learning and often impede the child’s academic, social, and emotional progress. Absence exceeding nine (9) days per semester (three semesters per year) will require a conference to assess the child’s progress and to make recommendations regarding the requirements for academic advancement. ABC Montessori will make no exceptions for truancy as it
is described.
 

Truancy

Regularity in attendance is very important in Montessori Schools. In case a student needs to be absent from school, an application, giving reasons, signed by the parent must be delivered in the school office before start of school. A student who has 15 unexcused absence, wi thin 90 calendar days with or without the knowledge or consent of the students Parent / Legal Guardian habitual truant. Action will be taken against such students as per schools policy.
 

Payments

  • All payments should be handed over in the office and receipt obtained.
  • Quarterly fee should be deposited till 7th of the first month of each quarter.e.g. for first quarter i.e(April to June) the fee should be paid by 7th April.
  • In case of dire odd circumstances, permission for monthly fee should be procured from the Principal.
  • Fine of Rs 10 will be charged after 7th of the month.
  • Each parent should maintain the fee booklet as well as the fee receipts throughout the year.

 

School Days and Working Hours

The school programme runs from 09:00 am to 12:30 pm, five days a week. All students must be picked up by 1:00 pm latest or be enrolled in our extended day programme.
 

Extended Day Program

Parents wishing to use extended day programme must enroll in advance. Extended Day, 12:30 pm to 5:00 pm, is provided. For those students not enrolled in the extended day programme parents will be billed at a per student per hour rate for any period that the child stays in school beyond his or her dismissal time. The office must approve any extended care in order to ensure appropriate staff student ratio. Extended Day parents must notify staff member when arriving and departing and sign children in and out. It is the responsibility of the parent to check the child’s class file daily for school communication. See the school calendar for a listing of holidays.
